What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is online mental health counseling through live video conferencing.  During these sessions, we can see, hear and interact with each other in real time, using HIPAA compliant systems.

Telehealth is perfect for clients who can not come to the office because of a long commute, physical limitations or transportation issues.  I am able to work with residents of the state of Colorado.

Many insurance plans do allow Telehealth.  Please contact me with questions.

Convenience:  There is no commute, physical barriers (like stairs), or problems with location.  Flexibility:  You are able to be seen at hours that work according to your schedule.  Safety:  Many clients feel safer in their own homes, in their own environments.  For example, many clients like to be near pets during Telehealth. Confidentiality:  I am legally bound by the laws of confidentiality for Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) in the state of Colorado.  I work in a closed, private home office or in my office at work, which is secured from sound leakage.  All documents are encrypted according to the laws to the state of Colorado’s HIPAA requirements for medical information, including Telehealth.

Would I feel disconnected from you?  While it’s true that some clients prefer face-to-face counseling, many clients report that once they get to know the therapist, they feel freer to be themselves through Telehealth.

I have helped people not familiar with technology get set up.  I can help you, too, if you want to try Telehealth.  Try it and see if it is right for you.
